Frequently Asked Questions

  • Once you contact me, I will ask for general information to be able to schedule an initial appointment. Prior to the appointment, I will ask you to complete the intake paperwork, which may be done electronically, or you may arrive early to your appointment to complete the paperwork prior to being seen. I do ask for all insurance information prior to being seen so that we may check insurance eligibility and ascertain, to the best of our ability, any financial responsibilities you may bear for treatment so that there is a decreased chances of surprises later on.

  • We do need insurance information prior to being seen. This protects you so that you do not receive a surprise bill for any services rendered. Once we have your insurance card on file, you do not need to bring it to each session.

  • Your financial responsibility is determined by your insurance. You may be financially responsible based on several aspects of your insurance coverage:

Deductible- Insurance companies often have a deductible that must be met before they pay for ANY services. This may range from $0 to several THOUSAND dollars. Please check with your insurance to determine not only what your deductible is, but also how much as been met. You will be financially responsible for the full allowable amount billed per session until your deductible is met.

Coinsurance- This refers to amount billed that the insurance does not cover that is the individual's responsibility to pay. Often times, this is identified in terms of percentages. For example, if your insurance covers 80% of your bill (once the deductible is met), you are then financially responsible for the remaining 20% of the allowable amount billed to your account.

Co-pay- The co-pay refers to the amount that you are responsible for paying, usually based on the type of visit. This is usually identified as a flat fee. For example, some insurance plans require a $15 co-pay for all office visits, or perhaps $25 for a specialist office visit. Outpatient therapy in an office setting is considered an "office visit" on most insurance plans. NOTE: Your insurance plan may require BOTH a co-pay, as well as co-insurance, once you have met your deductible.

Uncovered Services- Insurance companies may choose not to cover certain services, or other accrued fees may not be billable to your insurance. For example, some insurance companies may limit the amount of testing they will cover, or they may deny covering any testing or assessments. Insurance companies also will not provide coverage for a professional to speak on behalf of a client at a school meeting, such as an IEP eligibility meeting. This would be considered an uncovered service and you would be financially responsible. Additionally, late cancellation or no show fees are not billable to your insurance. Should you incur this fee, you are financially responsible for the full billed amount. (Please see our late cancellation/no show policy below for more information).

  • Therapy is different for everyone and largely depends on your goals for attending therapy. Some people will attend therapy to manage a specific problem or life stressor, and their experience in therapy is relatively short lived, a few weeks. Others have more chronic difficulties that may take longer to address in therapy, such as processing through grief or trauma, or managing lifelong conditions such as Autism or ADHD. Your therapist will discuss your treatment with you and be able to discuss how long your treatment may last.

  • Again, it depends. Most people will attend therapy weekly. Others will attend every other week, and yet others may attend twice per week for a period of time (typically when experiencing an acute crisis). Your treatment will be tailored to you and your specific needs, and, perhaps more important, your availability. However, frequency will need to match your “medical necessity,” meaning that the frequency you attend needs to match your therapy goals and objectives.

  • To make an appointment, you may either complete the form below, contact Delta Behavioral Health via the contact page, e-mail directly at info@deltabehavioralhealth.com, or you may call at 630-470-9483 and leave a message on the confidential voicemail if someone is unavailable.

  • If you are unable to make your appointment, whether due to a conflict in schedule or illness, notify Dr. Rosian as soon as you are able. You may reach her via e-mail at drkrosian@deltabehavioralhealth.com or leave a confidential voicemail at 630470-9483. Delta Behavioral Health requires 48-hour notice or you may be charged a late cancellation fee.

Appointments that are cancelled with less than 48-notice, as well as appointments that are missed without having been cancelled prior (no-show) are subject to a late cancel/no-show fee being charged. The fee applied is equivalent to the full-fee charged for the missed session. This fee is NOT billable to insurance and will be your responsibility. Fees will automatically be charged to the credit or debit card on file.

  • When you arrive to the office and enter the waiting room, there will be a button on the ledge to your right. Press and a light will notify your therapist that you have arrived. While you wait, you are welcome to make yourself comfortable with a warm beverage at our beverage station, or you are invited to peruse our offerings of books and magazines. Children are invited to play and explore in our children’s area. If you have a runner, feel free to pull up a chair so that they are safely contained in the children’s area.

  • Delta Behavioral Health has a comfortable, private, waiting area that is suitable for adults, children, and everyone in between. There is a semi-enclosed play area suitable for children of all ages with supervision, or they may sit in a chair in the main area with their accompanying adult(s). Both water and warm beverages are available, as are a variety of books or magazines.

Children or siblings may attend with a parent. We ask that parents remain on the premises for all minors receiving services. Older children of appropriate age or maturity may be left in the waiting room unaccompanied for short periods of time. An additional area may also be available upon notice or request. Please discuss any concerns or needs with your therapist.

  • Evaluations will begin with a clinical intake or interview with either the client, or a parent/caregiver. During this interview, the referral question will be clarified and the Psychologist will determine the necessary assessment protocol based on the referral question (i.e. “Does the child meet criteria for ____?” or “Are there any underlying conditions that are affecting a child’s performance/behavior at school?”)

Following the clinical interview, the Psychologist will administer the assessments decided upon. This process will vary widely depending on the referral question. The assessments may be administered either in a single day, such as for an Autism evaluation, or they may take place over several days.

Following the administration, there may be additional forms or questionnaires to complete. Once these forms are completed, the Psychologist will compile results, interpretations and findings into a written report. A feedback session will then be scheduled to review the report and answer any remaining questions or concerns.

  • Reports may be sent either electronically, or you may also request a paper copy. This is generally completed 4-6 weeks following the assessment.

Feedback Sessions- Findings and reports are not released until the account has been paid in full, either by the insurance company, or the person responsible for any fees.

  • Yes. Dr. Rosian is listed on the Illinois School Board of Education (ISBE) Independent Evaluators Registry, located here. This means that Dr. Rosian’s credentials have been verified by the state and school administrators will take Dr. Rosian’s results into consideration when reviewing a student’s eligibility for either a 504 plan or an Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

Having your child assessed and providing the school an outside evaluation does not guarantee that the student will receive services. However, if Dr. Rosian feels that a student demonstrates need for academic accommodations, she will work with the family and collaborate with the school to facilitate the process.

  • An Autism diagnosis is based on information from several sources, including, at minimum, the clinical interview, the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2), the Autism Spectrum Rating Scale, the Gilliam Autism Rating Scale, and the Vineland Adaptive Behavior Scale.

Additional information may be collected to assist Dr. Rosian with making appropriate referral recommendations or to provide additional academic recommendations for your child. This may include assessing cognitive functioning, sensory processing, or additional personality inventories for older children and adults.

  • While I am very familiar with behavioral principles, I do not provide ABA Therapy. If a child demonstrates the need for ABA therapy, I have several providers in the area with whom I am comfortable referring children.

With that being said, I am able to work with children and families to educate about behavioral principles to be able to address behavioral concerns or skill deficits, as appropriate.

It is important to note that ABA is not a one-size-fits-all treatment for Autism. While many with Autism can and do benefit from ABA therapy, Autism presentations are extremely diverse across the spectrum. In fact, ABA therapy is counter-indicated for some presentations of Autism, such as the Pathological or Pervasive Demand Avoidant profile of Autism.
